If statistics are to be trusted, the Springboks are really up against it when they play the All Blacks in a Tri-Nations match in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
The Springboks firstly have to avenge the 19-0 defeat at Newlands last year.
They have to fight the odds of one draw and one loss against the All Blacks in Bloemfontein, and also the fact that the Boks have won only one of their last four Tests against the All Blacks in South Africa - in Rustenburg in 2006 when they beat New Zealand 21-20.
Springbok captain John Smit says that he believes that his team have never had better preparation for the TriNations as they prepare to meet the All Blacks in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
The All Blacks will be coming off a round 1 victory against the Wallabies and knowing that they have never lost in Bloemfontein.
The Springboks have reverted to Ruan Pienaar at number 10 rather than Morné Steyn who knocked the ball out of Ugo Monye's hand in a tackle saving the first test and then kicked the series winning penalty at the death of the second test.
